The briefing will offer you the chance to hear from five key spokespeople from the Globe. Topics include the Globe’s international links, upcoming theatre performances and educational events in 2012, the Globe to Globe Festival and the future of the Globe, including plans to open an indoor Jacobean theatre onsite. Further details are outlined below.

You will have the option of taking part in a tour of the theatre and will be provided with detailed information packs on the history of the Globe, international feature and interview ideas and recent press releases.

09.20 Welcome and introduction by Neil Constable, Chief Executive

09.30 Dominic Dromgoole, Artistic Director, will outline his artistic vision for the Globe and the theatre’s upcoming highlights of 2012 - the Globe’s most ambitious year yet.

09.45 Patrick Spottiswoode, Director, Globe Education, will introduce the ground-breaking work that Globe Education does, along with its international connections and ambitions.

10.00 Tom Bird, Globe to Globe Festival Director, will talk about the upcoming Globe to Globe Festival which will see all of Shakespeare’s plays performed in 37 languages by theatre companies from 36 countries, in just 6 weeks.

10.15 Dr Farah Karim-Cooper, Head of Courses & Research & chair of the Architectural Research Group, will discuss the Globe’s plans for an indoor Jacobean theatre, the most complete recreation of an English renaissance indoor theatre yet attempted.
